CAP CLUB HISTORY
Back in 1983 a group of keen and dedicated owners of English small Fords formed a club called the New Anglia Prefect Cortina Club of Australia. The 'new' related to the second generation of Anglias and Prefects. The objective of the club was to promote the preservation and restoration of these small English Fords.

As the years rolled by the Cortina became the most popular vehicle to be owned by members ( the few Bathurst wins may have had something to do with this) and in the late 90's it was decided that the club's name should be changed to reflect this and so the name Cortina Anglia Prefect Club of Australia. Today the Club is usually referred to as the CAP Club and untill recently, when it came to Cortinas, only Mark1 and Mark2 Cortinas were allowed within the club. In late 2007 it was decided to amend the Club's rules to allow in the later generation Cortinas.
CAP Club currently has over 50 members providing technical information, a small range of spare parts, an informative monthly magazine and access to the Concessional Registration Scheme (Club plates). We also enjoy a very good social atmosphere with regular outings, monthly meetings and annual dinners. Over the years CAP Club has arranged weekend trips away with similar interstate clubs and the highlight outing was in the year 2000 when 14 members took their Cortinas, Anglias and Prefects all the way to Melbourne for Ford Australia's 75th birthday bash. Over 3000 passionate Ford vehicle owners made the trek to what was the greatest Ford gathering ever in Australia and we were part of it all.
C.A.P. Club is affiliated with several motoring bodies and every year the Club participates in these major annual events:
- The All Ford Day at Eastern Creek Raceway (25/7/2010)
- The All British Day at Kings School Nth. Parramatta (29/8/2010)
- The Combined Motor Club's E/Creek Raceway Display Day (22/8/2010)
- CAP Clubs' British Ford Display Day at Ettamogah Pub Rouse Hill (3/5/2010)
