CAP History
Back in 1983 a group of keen and dedicated owners of English small Fords formed a club called the New Anglia Prefect Cortina Club of Australia. The 'new' related to the second generation of Anglias and Prefects. The objective of the club was to promote the preservation and restoration of these small English Fords. Anglia
While the first Ford Anglias appeared in the 40's Ford released the 100E in 1953. The 100E was available a2-door Anglia and a 4-door Prefect.Internally there were individual front seats trimmed in PVC, hinged to allow rear access. Prefect
Again the Ford Prefect name had been on the roads for many years before the release in 1953 of the much redesigned Ford Prefect 100E. Cortina
The Cortina was without doubt one of Ford's leading lights. Produced for 20 years throughtin 5 generations Mark I to Mark V, all variants of the Cortina sold over one million units enjoying success world-wide. Gnoo Blas Classic Held in February - wonderful weekend away out at Orange for a festival of all things racing, congratulations to Peter for recieving Best Ford of the festival awarded by Allan Moffat, for his beautiful green Anglia.
Grande Finale of Daylight Savings Held the 25th May - Great Day out for all that attended to Appin pub for lunch with a great cruise to and from the destination.
Family Picnic Day Held the 15th May - Bill and Joy put together a fantastic run out to Burragorang Lookout with a fun filled run through the country back roads of picton.
